## PUBLIC OFFICIALS.

Council considered five charges brought against Spencer Kelly, Inspector, 3rd Class, Sanitary Department, for corrupt practices and after examining witnesses unanimously recommended that he should be suspended from office with a view to his dismissal from the service.

The Hon: the Principal Civil Medical Officer considered the first, second and fifth charges not proven, and the Hon: the Attorney General and Sir C. P. Chater were of the same opinion regarding the fifth charge.

Council advised that pending the decision of the Secretary of State, Mr. Kelly should be granted an alimentary allowance at the rate of $50 per mensem.
